Carmen was found as a stray at a local dumpster. She was in horrible shape but her puppy, who was with her, was near death. After months of vet care and lots of TLC, Carmen's puppy survived and has since found his new home.

Carmen is an extremely gentle soul who loves to just be held and doted on. She's very sweet and knows how to cheer you up when you're down. Carmen is a bit apprehensive upon initial meeting but will warm up to you within seconds.  

Carmen gets along well with other dogs.  If you're looking for a very calm, sweet girl Carmen is your girl.  She would do great in an apartment.  
Carmen is current on all her vaccinations and is spayed.

On 10/19/16 Carmen tested positive for heart worms.  She was treated with the Fast-Kill method and on 12/1/16 we are happy to report Carmen is free of heart worms.  She will still need to be kept on a monthly heart worm pill.  If you have time and love to give this wonderful girl, please submit an application to www.socorescue.com.
