Hi there, I am Katie and I am a 4-5 year old Australian Shepherd mix. I have been with my current foster family for the past 3 years so they know me pretty well. Included in this family, there are young children and other dogs, both of which I love. While they hate letting me go, they know that a home of my own will only benefit me.

I am heart worm free and have been on a monthly heart worm and flea preventative since starting my life with my foster family. All of my vaccines are up to date, I'll be micro-chipped before adoption and have recently been spayed.

Prior to meeting my foster family, I suffered some sort of burn across my back. While I have a very beautifful coat of fur, my hair will not regrow on the burn spots. You'll notice these spots a little in my pictures. I'm not positive exactly what happened but would hate to believe that a human was responsible, because I consider everyone a friend.

I have spent a little time as an indoor dog and did very well with my house training. But since I am currently kept outdoors, I will need a little refresher course and patience when learning my new house training rules. I would think that I'll make a great indoor pet. I've not been around many cats lately and really don't know how I would react around them.
