Dakota was an owner surrender to the Laurens Co. Animal Control at barely a month old. I watched, in horror, as the animal control officer carried this little fellow by the back of his neck and then threw him into a pen with much larger dogs. Dakota would have surely died in the animal control, if not by deseases then probably by being mauled by the larger, older dogs.

I brought Dakota home and immediately started giving him his puppy vaccines and a dewormer. He was very scared, as could be expected given all he had just been through. But within 2 days, he was playing and romping around, as a very happy puppy should be. With his silver color and dark eyes, this little fellow is too cute and will grow to be a beautiful dog.

Dakota did suffer an injury after first getting here. His head is so small that he could slip it through the fencing in the outdoor kennel we'd let him play in. Somehow he did loose half of his left ear. It may have been caused by another pup that bit it off or he got it caught on the fencing. Either way, we now keep him indoors and away from all other pups. And he doesn't even seemed bothered by it at all. He is a tough little fellow!

Dakota is a very playful, fun pup that loves human contact. He will be easy to train, as are most Husky's. He is mastering the puppy pad training and will soon start his house training. He will go into his crate to eat and sleep.
