Fina and her 5 siblings came to our rescue as stray puppies when they were only about 5 weeks old. Their mother had been a stray herself who took up residence under a woman's shed when it came time to deliver her pups. One day the mom, who had been very protective of her pups, went for her usual walk around the property but never returned. To this day no one has seen the mom and it's believed that she either was picked up by animal control or, most likely, met her fate while out scrounging for food. Two days after the mom dog disappeared, the owner of the property was able to get the pups out from under her shed. The pups were dehydrated, weak from lack of food and loaded with parasites and worms. Their immune systems suffered after not getting proper nutrition from nursing which also caused some hair loss. Despite our best efforts, three of the pups passed away within their first week at our rescue and   Fina  and her remaining two siblings all fought hard battles to overcome their ailments but in the end, prevailed and have become strong, healthy and happy pups. 

 

Fina has the same wonderful and affectionate personality as her sisters, Fable and Ferra but is much more reserved and calmer than her sisters. While she'll make a great family addition, she'll do best in a more settled, calmer home. 

 

As of Aug 1,   Fina  has received 2/3 of her first year "puppy" vaccines with her third vaccine due on Aug. 12. She's also been treated for parasites, worms and a nasty flea infestation. Her previous skin condition has greatly improved and we'd recommend a fish based food which will only benefit her skin and coat of fur.   Fina  will require all of her basic training. She has been spayed.
