Eliza's mom and aunt were found by workers who were gathering pine straw in a wooded area. After noticing that Eliza's mom (Ellie) had delivered nine puppies while they were working one day, the two men decided to take the two sisters and the nine pups to their home out of concern for their safety. Not knowing who else to contact, the men called their pastor who then reached out to SoCo Rescue for help. 

When a member of the SoCo team went to pick up the dogs and pups, he discovered that Eliza's aunt (Emma), who did not look pregnant, had delivered her two pups overnight! Both moms and all eleven pups were taken to SoCo Rescue.

With constant care and attention being given to them, Eliza and all of the other pups have become well socialized towards people. She's very playful, affectionate and simply loves cuddling up with his human caretakers. With her traits, Eliza will make an excellent family companion and should be fine around children as long as they're accustomed to being around a small pup. 

We expect that Eliza will grow to be a small dog just like her mom, who only weighs about 20 lbs. She's already received 2/3 of her first year "puppy" vaccines with the final round being due around Dec 25th. She's also received her bordetella vaccinations, been de-wormed, treated against parasites and started on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. Eliza's adopter must agree to having her spay once she reaches 6 months of age and provide proof of such to our rescue. Eliza will need to receive her rabies vaccination anytime after she reaches three months of age.
