Description:
***Ellie will be available for adoption at Rosedale Mills (Pennington, NJ) over the Oct 25-27 weekend.*** To say Ellie's former life was a "living hell" would be a gross understatement. She spent her days attached to a chain behind her former owner's home, with no shelter from the elements and rarely received anything but the occasional meal. Ellie obviously has been pregnant a number of times and after one such incident, her former owner gave her an "abortion pill" to end her pregnancy (we have no idea what this actually was, but wasn't anything that a vet would have given). Ellie was seen "dropping dead puppies" all over the neighborhood once she had the miscarriage. After the owner went out of town and left Ellie chained up without food or water, Ellie managed to chew through the wire makeshift collar around her neck and went to a neighbor's home. It was during that time a friend of SoCo Rescue learned of Ellie's miserable life and convinced the owner to surrender her. Ellie was immediately placed at a foster home and quickly stole the hearts of her foster parents. Ellie's extremely friendly personality towards people and other dogs makes her easy to fall in love with and also makes her a great candidate into just about any home situation. We're not positive if Ellie has ever lived as an inside dog and she may need a little training to become accustomed to living indoors. Ellie has now been spay, fully vaccinated and de-wormed, treated against parasites and kept on her monthly preventatives. We also had her treated for her heartworms recently so she should be free and clear of them. Ellie, more so than most, deserves a home where she'll be loved unconditionally.
