When we first received the call to take in a litter of pups, we had no idea that we'd also be asked to take in the mom dog as well. But we sure are glad that we were.

Daphne had been living in a shoddy kennel that was set as far away as possible from the house even though she was still somewhat nursing 9 very young pups. She was so undernourished that she was at least 10 lbs underweight and looked to be starving as you could see about every bone in her little body. She was also starving for attention as her former family simply didn't want her, telling us "We want her gone!" To make matters even worse, she became pregnant before she was even a year old.

Since coming to SoCo, Daphne has now received more love and attention that she's ever had and she shows us on a daily basis how much she appreciates it. She seems to know that by us having her spay and renewing all of her vaccines that we truly do care about her as she has been nothing but loving and very friendly towards us. She also recently tested negative for heart worms, giving us an opportunity to hopefully find her the wonderful new home that she deserves. Daphne has also been very friendly and playful towards other dogs as well, even taking a young pup under her guidance.
